Membership Spotlight: Reel Extreme Alaska

I recently got a chance to have a quick chat with the very guy that runs the ATV/Streamside Fishing business called Reel Extreme Alaska. The 5’7” (judging from my own height) cheerful, happy, young man recently joined Discover Kodiak and already has received bookings for his excursion. We are always so happy to greet him when he walks into the door and look forward to work with him on whatever he needs.

He came in the other day to drop off some brochures and I thought that maybe I should write a blog about him. I emailed him a few questions about himself and his business and it came out really well and I think it should help readers figure out if they want to book with him.

1.       Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Have been fishing in Alaska waters for over 12 years, still have the fishing fever, extremely knowledgeable where the fish like to hang out.

2.       What is Reel Extreme Alaska?

Top of the line guided fishing service for Kodiak on and off road fishing locations.

3.       How many clients can you take out at one time?

We can comfortably take 8 people out fishing.

4.       Where do you like to take clients out fishing?

Most sought after adventure is the Off Road excursion to Saltery Cove and Kodiak Road System Rivers.

5.       What kind of ATV’s do you have? How many people do they hold?

Yamaha Viking, Polaris RzR and Polaris Sportsman

6.       What kind of fish do you fish for?

All 5 Species of Salmon, Red’s, Silvers and Kings are the main target; however Rainbows, Dollies, Arctic Char and Steelhead can be specifically targeted as well.

7.       How long is a full day? Do you offer half days?

Full Day is approximately 8 hours and 1/2 day is apx 4 hrs.

8.       Do you provide gear?

Provide all the gear need, Fly Rods, Spinning Rods, Fly's, lures, boots, waders and plenty of Ice….

9.       If the weather is bad, do you still go?

Safety is the most important factor and a determination will be made prior to departure.  Many times the weather will be too rough for anglers to go on their ocean charter trips and will give us a call to take them on one of our Off-Road/Road System fishing adventures.

Be sure to give Reel Extreme Alaska a call to book with them! Reel Extreme Alaska will take you on a “reel” extreme adventure!
