Keeping the faith in the U.S. Postal Service...
The Dec/Jan issue of ALASKA Magazine featured my calendar on page 31. It's been fun sharing Kodiak's beauty with folks from Spain to Texas. But sometimes, in spite of all the automation out there, glitches happen. On December 14, I received an email from Jen C. in Hudson, Ohio. "When might I see my order?"
"Let's see, I mailed it on December 5," I replied. "Priority Mail. It should have been there by now. I'll check the tracking number."
Well, as you can see, the package traveled from Anchorage to Barrigada, a small village on Guam. Then to Honolulu... Hmm. Today, a message from the USPS said that it had been delivered to its final resting place -- 11 days later. Moral of the story: Through snow, rain, and tropical sun…
