Taking a drive out to Anton Larsen Bay

While taking a drive out the road, be sure to take a drive out to Anton Larsen Bay that takes about two hours on Anton Larsen Bay Road.  Only about one third of the road is paved, so be cautious driving down that road. You might think that there is really not much to see down that road, but I can assure you that you will be able to see some beautiful scenery and might even be able to take a hike (weather permitting). But you will also run into other things like the Buskin River & the Lake. If you have your fishing license, you can pull out your fishing pole and start some great fishing!  When you continue down the road, you will also run into the Bear Valley Golf Course, and if you are a person that likes to golf, there is no where better to golf than in bear country! Right where the golf course starts, however, the pavement in the road will end. Keep driving and you will run into a few things like trail heads, an old ski chalet and an old plane crash sight. Eventually, you will end up at the boat launch at the end of the road where most people coming from one of the villages, like Port Lions, normally come through. It is a beautiful drive and it is a great opportunity to do some birding!
