I worked in Alitak for the four summers of my college years. '88 thru '91. I fell in love with Alaska and Kodiak Island. The only place as beautiful I have ever encountered is Scotland. I will never forget Alitak and can't wait to return to Alaska someday. I recommend anyone interested to go visit - you won't believe your eyes. Mother Nature outdid herself in Alaska.

I visited Kodiak in June 1993, and it was beautiful. Now I'm writing an essay on the history of Kodiak. Your page really helped me out!!! Thanks a lot!!!

Our daughter in the USCG and has arrived at the USCGC Mellon for her first duty station - she is on her way to Kodiak to begin her career. We are very curious about where she is going, especially the weather and sights. I have always wanted to go to Alaska, so I am living vicariously through her new adventure.

I was browsing through several different web sites and home pages with my husband this evening, and wanted to see if Kodiak had a spot. Of course you did, and a beautiful one it is too!! I taught at Peterson Elementary last year, and was married this summer. My husband and I moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The Rockies are nice to look at and so are the many "kilometers" of wheat fields, but nothing beats the ocean view from a cliff or hillside on Kodiak!! Please say "hello, eh!" to all the teachers at Peterson and especially to Tonya Rarick who teaches 3/4 out there!! I miss you!! Love, Lydia!

Well done John, I guess I'm not the only one that lived in Kodiak and miss the friends I made there and the good times we all had there. I was there from 59-63 playing little league baseball and just having the time of my life. So many have placed their testimonials in this register I just had to put mine in as well. If any of my friends are on line and discover my note please give me an e-mail and let me know how your doing. Thanks John your providing a wondrous service!

I am away at college right now, and seeing this great web site made me realize how homesick I am. Great job, beautiful pictures.

I lived in Kodiak for 8 years until 1984. This is a great web page and I can seek that Kodiak has changed a great deal in 12 years. I hope to get back there soon. I'm wondering if there are any KHS people out there from the class of 1986. I'd be curious as to what happened to various people.
