My son Richard is stationed at Fort Richardson outside of Anchorage. I found your web site in the Alaska Magazine he bought me for Christmas. I really enjoyed your articles about Kodiak. Hi Richard.

It's great to see Kodiak, AK join the cyberspace world. My hats off to those involved for a great line of HTML. I am from Kodiak originally. Born to Robert and Glenda Morrison, 3/19/53 a set of twins, Jay and Richard. Check your history books...Jay and I are the first registered twins born on the island. Not the only twins, mind you...this was the year of the new hospital and the beginning of the Kodiak Registry. Remember the Kodiak Marine Pilot? I do. After school during the sixth grade, I'd head downtown and buy 18 papers for a nickel each and sell each for a dime. My route was 6 miles long, 5 days per week and done during the dead of winter. It was a good thing bears hibernated during those cool months or I'd been a young feast. I've just started a Web Page and would like to include Kodiak's Best as a source link for our Family & Friends Network. Education and Research should only be a mouse click away... Good Luck... Hi Wayne! Nice Home Page. Kodiak is far more beautiful than a computer can show. Maybe summer of '97.

I have visited Kodiak Island five times. I will be back for a sixth and in the meantime your page is wonderful for all types of information. My hobby is bear viewing and Kodiak is the best place in the world I have found to do this!!

I was stationed at the Naval Station in 1961-62. I have great memories of the island, including "The Rendezvous" bar (John & Sally Nosich were the owners then). Ron Hurst had a cattle ranch at Saltry Cove, where I spent many enjoyable days hunting and fishing. Pat Cannon (and his wife Margaret) lived in town and had several fishing boats that worked out to Kodiak harbor. I would love to hear any information about these places/people. Thanks for the opportunity to talk about Kodiak!

I was fishing in Fairbanks, Anchorage, and the Kenai Peninsula in 1980. Loved it. I will be hunting and fishing in Kodiak from Oct 12-19, 1996. I can't wait. I just found out about this web page in my Sept '96 Alaska Magazine. Very timely. See ya'll in October. ("y'all" is the second person, plural of "you", for those of you not from Texas)
