What a treat. Found Web site address in my current Alaska Magazine. I lived in Kodiak from 1964 until I moved to Fairbanks in 1967. While in Kodiak I worked for Chuck Powell, my wife's cousin, at Alaska Transfer, and Ray Martin at Pacific Northern Airlines. Was a great place with many great people. It looks like Kodiak has gone through many changes since I left. Haven't looked at all the Web page yet, but I sure will.

I have never been to Alaska but hope one day to visit. I found out about Kodiak from different sources on the "net" a few weeks ago. I have a feeling that I will be up there in the future. Great life folks, enjoy it while you can!

We lived at the Naval Station in the early 1970's. Loved the island and have many fond memories. Glad to see your web site. We certainly hope to return someday for a visit! Keep up the good work!

WOW! Nice to see where I lived as a young girl on the internet! Great job, John! Also, like another person I read in these pages...I lived there from 1957 to 1962 and IT WAS GOOD to read DR. Bob's comment; he was prominent when I was there, too!!I got to visit last summer for about 3 short days for a 30 year class reunion..What fun!!! I want to come back soooo bad!!! Janelle

Wish I was there. My sister lived in Kodiak for 10 years and loved it. Someday.

I too have fond memories of Kodiak where I was stationed as an electronic technician in the Navy when it was Kodiak, T.A. I was there for 13 months in '53-'54. We could buy a whole cooked king crab for $5 in Kodiak then. Once we had a blizzard with 90 mile an hour winds and the P2V Neptune planes were "flying" on their tethers. I subscribe to "Alaska" to keep up with a great state. I also spent 6 months at Dutch Harbor where the record halibut was recently caught.
