I lived in Kodiak 1973-74.worked in the canneries, when King Crab and the shrimp were around the Island. After joining the Air Force, I came back in 1975 for visits. Then I was transferred to many differrent places. I returned to Alaska in 2005 to stay. I went to the "Open Door" Bookstore and coffee house. Looking for Anyone that knows anything about Camp Woody, Family Camp. Remember those lovely summers.? I am looking for anyone who might still know about the Chafins, Does anyone know if Trish still comes back for the summers.?

I lived on Kodiak in 5th grade, back in 1972-1973. My friends were Tissie Briggs and Sandy Keller. My father flew c-130's. I miss it still. We played in the woods, built forts, found lakes. It was the best place in the world for kids.

You know it's funny. When you're on Kodiak, you can't wait to get off the "rock" and go down to the 'lower 48.' If and when you do get off Kodiak, you want to go back.
