T
he construction industry is an important part of Kodiak's economy. Several large construction projects were completed during the past decade, including a new hospital and 35 new units of senior, disabled and low-income housing, Alaska State Trooper building, Arctic Physical Therapy, the Kodiak Launch Complex, the Kodiak Fisheries Research Center, Wal-Mart, Blockbusters, dental clinic, RC Enterprises, cellular telephone tower/antennae sites (continuing project), major cleanup of old military sites, an ongoing Coast Guard housing project and several new residential subdivisions.

New projects scheduled for construction include:

  • City of Kodiak 600-ton travel lift
  • City of Kodiak municipal facilities
  • Kodiak Island Borough School District facility upgrades
  • Swimming Pool
  • Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center
